Prison Breaks, Replays, Outdoor Movies, and Other Thoughts

1.  I really enjoyed starting the Prison Break series again; and what a great passage to start-up with.  "Be imitators of God... and live a life of love" (Eph 5:1-2).  Be a copy cat... and then walk as children of the light; walk like you just used the mimeograph machine or had a BBQ for God, so people can see His love inside of you (if that doesn't make sense you should listen to the sermon or watch the replay).  Remember, if you’re not sure how to do that, ask "What does love require of me?"  If you answer honestly, you'll never go wrong following love's requirements.

On a personal note, "What does love require of me?" was a very powerful concept for me.  I'm grateful for fellow preachers like Andy Stanley for their insight, wisdom, creativity, and willingness to share their ideas. I pray God will use this concept to influence, mold, and bless your life as well. Don’t forget, you can download the “What does love require of me?” backgrounds on the church website. Click on the “current series” link in the resource section to find them.

2. You can experience Sunday's message again in two ways.  1) You can listen to the sermon again on the church website at www.gothope365.com, at sermon.net/gothope365, or as an iTunes podcast (search "David Chambers" or "Community of Hope Seattle" to locate).  Sermons are generally available on the following Tuesday on the website and sermon.net, or if you subscribe to the iTunes podcast.  Otherwise, it will be available when iTunes performs their scheduled updates of podcasts.

2) You can also watch the entire service at online.gothope365.com on Tuesday evenings at 7pm.  The "doors" open at 6:30pm for pre-service announcements and videos.  This is a new ministry adventure for us and is being fine tuned and tweaked each week.  In its infancy, people from 5 states and 2 countries outside the USA have experienced God at Community of Hope either during the live streaming broadcast or the Sunday Replay later in the week.

If you are interested in helping in this new ministry with your time, talents, or financial resources, please send an e-mail to david@gothope365.com so we can get you plugged in.

3. Outdoor Summer Movie Series: Beginning in June, our FREE Dinner & A Movie nights will be outdoors (indoors in case of rain).  This summer will feature A Bugs Life, The Lion King, and Night at the Museum.  In addition there will be monthly door prizes and a Grand Prize at the end of the summer.  Watch for more details and start planning now to invite everyone you know to the FREE Dinner & A Movie event on the 3rd Saturday of June, July, and August.

4. The resource section of our church website has been updated to include an Amazon.com section.  We receive a percentage of all purchases initiated through our website.  This has totaled more than $150 dollars of “free” money.  If you’re going to buy something, you might as well buy it through our amazon links so the church can benefit.

5. In the coming days, I will be sharing some devotionals from Perry Noble.  Perry has been one of my “unofficial” mentors.  I listen to his preaching and leadership teachings on a regular basis.  He is currently sharing some thoughts with his church that I think will benefit all of us.  Watch for these to post in my blog at www.myteleios.com. It will be like having a guest speaker/columnist.

6.  Remember:  Found people, find people.  Who do you know that needs help finding Christ in their life?  You may be their best opportunity to experience the God of Creation. Keep your eyes open and your spirit tuned to what God may want to accomplish through you!

You are loved more than you know!

Until next time,

Pastor David
